Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. She was the home of her mother and also mother to her children. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her older brothers. McCormick always enjoyed dancing, singing and performing performances with puppets. At the age of six, McCormick young, she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency phoned and asked if she would like to enter show business. McCormick landed her first major job in 1964 when she starred in a television commercial for Mattels newest doll Baby Pattaburp. That year that followed, she appeared in another commercial that aired on TV for Chatty Cathy's doll. Soon afterward, McCormick was chosen by La Jolla Playhouse to play the role of the character Wind It up until It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick, which was chosen out of 1500 auditioned children, was cast as the older of three two-headed daughters, in The Brady Bunch (1969) with Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The show lasted for five seasons. In her autobiography Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice published in 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the fifth season, she nearly lost her virginity to her onscreen brother and co-star Barry Williams. The actress was only 16 when the incident occurred and he was just 19. It would have happened she told me, but the timing wasn't the right time for us.
